International Women’s Day is not only celebrated in Ukraine but also in other countries worldwide. The way and tradition of celebration is quite different in various countries. In Ukraine, the International Women’s Day is demonstration of respect, love and appreciation of Ukrainian women, when in other countries it can be simply a celebration for women’s achievements (either political or social).

How people celebrate it:

As a rule everyone has a day off on March 8th. Men present flowers to their moms, wives, girlfriends or just female friends. Apart from flowers they buy them small gifts, sweets or cakes.
